NEW YORK, April 12 (UPI) -- Producer Marc Fiore said during a New York press conference Tuesday Lindsay Lohan is in talks for a role in "Gotti: Three Generations."
John Travolta is to play late Gambino crime family boss John Gotti Sr. in the movie, which is expected to hit theaters in 2012.
Travolta, Fiore, John Gotti Jr. and film director Nick Cassavetes discussed the upcoming project with reporters at a Manhattan hotel Tuesday. Also at the press conference was Lohan, who has been rumored to be up for the part of Victoria Gotti, the famed gangster's daughter, EW.com said.
Asked why Lohan was at the media event, Fiore replied: "Lindsay is a terrific actress. I'm glad to have her here today. We're in talks. Nothing's finalized."
EW.com said Gotti Jr. told the press he felt his family's story is in good hands and would be told "correctly" through the film.
"My father was an icon. He was a man larger than life. When he walked into a room, he owned the room," Gotti Jr. said.
