Lindsay Lohan may play Victoria Gotti in mob biopic
(CBS/AP) Lindsay Lohan is in talks to star alongside John Travolta in the mobster biopic "Gotti: Three Generations."
The 24-year-old starlet, who has been rumored to be up for the role of Victoria Gotti, daughter of the infamous "Dapper Don" John Gotti, made a surprise appearance at press event for the film in New York on Tuesday.
Producer Marc Fiore confirmed that he's in talks with Lohan but said nothing had been finalized. He says Lohan is "a terrific actress."
And Victoria Gotti also shared praise for Lohan, telling People magazine that she thinks "she's incredible."
"I've always thought she was gorgeous and talented and filled with a lot of depth," she said, "So, I think that whatever she would like to do would be great with me."
The movie could potentially be a legitimate on-screen comeback for Lohan, who has been plagued by legal problems in recent years and is now battling a felony grand theft charge in California over a $2,500 necklace.
Travolta will star as the leader of the legendary Gambino crime family. Actor Joe Pesci, who is no stranger to crime movies, is reportedly set to play Gotti's close friend Angelo Ruggiero.
The biopic is set to begin filming in October and is slated for release in late 2012.
