Lindsay Lohan Talks Jail, Gotti Movie on Surprise Leno Appearance

By Amanda P

Lindsay Lohan’s surprise appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is already making headlines – and it won’t even air until tonight! According to Us Weekly, the 24 year-old actress taped her interview with Jay yesterday, after receiving a standing ovation from the audience. An interesting response given her colorful past…but maybe it really is time for LiLo to move forward with her acting career.

On Friday, she was sentenced to 120 days in prison after a judge ruled that her alleged necklace-gate was a violation of the probation terms of her 2007 DUI arrest. LiLo was released on $75,000 bail and is due back in court May 11 for her trial. She described her jail sentence as “shocking” and said it left her “kind of numb.”

“At what point did you realize, ‘Oh my God, I could lose this, this could slip away from me?’” Leno asked.

“I think that when, you know, being young and being in the position I was in, you don’t really take the time to appreciate what you have and it’s all kind of a whirlwind, and people make decisions for you,” she explained. “But I’m not a kid anymore–I’m 24. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I recognize that. I’m in the clear now, and as long as I stay focused, I can achieve what I want to achieve.”

Lindsay’s hoping that one of those achievements will be starring in the John Travolta movie Gotti: Three Generations. She’s been confirmed as a cast member – but you might remember that she was dropped from another movie because insuring her proved to be too expensive.

Are you ready for LiLo’s comeback?
