John Travolta talks about Gotti and Welcome Back Kotter
John Travolta appeared on the NBC show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, April 15, 2011, to talk about his new son, the Welcome Back Kotter Reunion and his new movie about John Gotti, Sr.
Travolta proudly showed a picture of his four month old son, Benjamin Travolta, who he seemed overjoyed with. John Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston,Â tragically lost their eldest son over a year ago.
John Travolta was part of the cast of Welcome Back Kotter at the beginning of his career. The cast of Welcome Back Kotter was honored at the TV Land Awards with a 35th Anniversary Award. Travolta called the TV Land Awards the coolest show on television, because it was positive. Travolta was also glad that he had a chance to thank Gabe Kaplan for starting the show. Travolta's new project is a movie about gangster John Gotti, Sr. the head of the Gambino crime family. He met with John Gotti, Jr, at an Italian restaurant and said the two bonded. Gotti has given his blessing to the project. John Travolta to star as gangster John Gotti
The film will also star Joe Pesci, who Travolta says will be perfect in his role. When asked about the potential casting of Lindsay Lohan in the role of Victoria Gotti, Travolta also said that she would be perfect, but did not say that it was a done deal. Lohan, of course, still has to face the charges against her in the case of the alleged stolen necklace. If found guilty, Lohan could face jail time. The actress did appear at the Gotti press conference.

Leno also asked Travolta about his friend, Kirstie Alley, who is appearing as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Alley is a close friend of John and his wife. Travolta said that she had asked for his advice about appearing on the show. He had advised her to pass in earlier seasons, but this season, he thought it would be good for her.
